Shared By JTM: "HI Brent: Attached is one that I completed today, after a number of suggestions from my partner and my friend HJ, I decided on this composition.  I often will over saturate a piece,  I find that some times the simplest is the best result.  In this piece, there are very few steps, the waterfall is one layer ( cleaned up ) then the divers were added , then the rainbow. Then a rain filter was added on top of it all, which is hard to see but does add to the effect. Thank You for posting it and for a great blog. jtm"

Shared By JTM: "Hi Brent, this one I call "Beaver Grass" which, in my area, is referred to as a swamp or wet lands.  There are approximately 12+ layers of elements to compose this piece and then I applied a oil paint texture to each layer.  There is another texturing that I do, which requires burning and dodging and sharpening, that is what gives the brownish shading.  This is the effect I really like.  Enjoy, jtm  p.s. Due to the original size, I put this on a black background to accommodate the wide screen size you request."

I am very excited about your new blog, and hope that I, though I'm not a beginner, can participate. I think you may have found the right formula for a successful workshop, and if this goes well, I would encourage you to create a Yahoo Group for that purpose, as they are very easy to create, and I think you would find that they work well for hosting a workshop. Hey HJ, doesn't matter to me here on this Blog whether your a beginner Wallpaper Maker or a Pro at it, I'm just so very happy to have you join in on the fun here and I'm more than happy to post your Work to share with all My Blog Fans!!!  And thanks for the offer of how it was done, just hoping you can tell us all how to do it within Gimp?.  For after all, this is what this Blog is all about and that is for those that are just getting started using the free photo edit known as Gimp!  And as for starting a Yahoo Group as a workshop, sorry HJ, as I stated in my opening statement here on this Blog in "About", Yahoo Groups are no longer what they us to be, for Yahoo has a whole new format that is causing all kinds of problems for not only All The Yahoo Group Owners, but also for all the members of those Groups and I have no desire to joining in on what so many are complaining about at this time.  For Blogging is what I know and how to use it to it's fullest extent and this Blog so far as been working just fine for me to get the word out in "How Desktop Wallpapers Are Born" and while just a few have shared their work here so far, I have been helping so many on a one-on-one bases behind the seen!!!  And for me, this Blog is working just fine for me and them as a workshop and I'm hoping that you will continue being a regular contributor to this Blog and helping others with any of Your Wallpaper Tips within Gimp.
